Let me tell you a little story about a German foreign exchange student named Christian and a very naive young girl named April…
This very naive young lady was in her high school years when suddenly one day she met a young man in the cafeteria who wanted to carry her books for her… she didn’t really like the idea of people doing things for her so she promptly told him no thank you and tried to be on her way. What she didn’t know was that this young man was for whatever reason, smitten with her and he wasn’t going to take no for an answer, so a tug of war between the two began with him pulling her books one way and a very flustered young lady pulling her books back and demanding that they be released at once.
What this young woman didn’t recognize was that, her young suiter was trying to do a gentlemanly thing and she was insulting him beyond belief. He was very flustered and tried ever so hard to gain her attention, but she refused to acknowledge his existence. Not because she was being mean on purpose.. it was just because she didn’t recognize his attention for what it was. Until one day she came home from school and was surprised by a knock on the door.
A flower delivery man had been sent to her house with not one, but TWO dozen red roses in a beautiful glass vase. She was slightly unnerved and still not mature enough to know how to handle this kind of attention so she marched into her school guidance counselor office the next day and demanded that this harassment by Christian be dealt with. The guidance counselor stifled his laugh and said..
“Don’t you think that maybe he just likes you?”
